Review: Thief of Thieves #15

Review By: Sergio Porras For all the buildup of this story there better be a huge pay off because I for one am sick of waiting around. Fifteen issues in and still no actual unveiling of the "Venice" job except that it has something to do with some shady ass high end art dealer.

Thief of Thieves is starting to become so predictable that it almost deserves to be the only comic in history to receive a day time Emmy. The creative team fooled us all by thinking that the new arc would bring new action, but it’s honestly the same old story... Conrad tries to assure himself that this is the last and final job, his ex-wife fucks things up for him, cops are hot on the never ending trail of the world’s greatest thief, and guess what? Augustus is still in trouble. The only moving forward in the whole issue was the fact that the crew got on a plane. Try not to let the excitement hit you all at once.

thiefofthieves15_coverThe art is as good as always and it’s sadly the only think that I really liked about the issue. Here’s an idea, for those of us who are tired of waiting, lets pass around a petition that says we only want silent issues so we can have awesome art until the creative team can come up with an actual story.

If you’re still hanging in there, then good for you; you’re clearly much more patient than I am. As of right now this series is back on the chopping block for me until the creative team can pull together and write something fresh. I refuse to give this series more than a 3, and that’s only because I love the art, until they can produce better story telling without having to dance around this idea of a great story.
