Batman Chucks Coming, But They're Pricing AF

By Dustin Cabeal

First off all, the press release doesn't say it, but those are probably fucking Nike's Chuck 2's. If you didn't know, Nike has owned Converse for the better part of my life and while they've kept the original chucks going (sales juggernaut with people who don't like arc support, ankle support and just want to look cool), they've been working out a way to make a comfortable and high end version. Hence, Chuck 2, Batman... $115-125 bucks. Yeah... I like Batman. I like Chucks. I'll keep my money and spend it on some Under Armors that feel like clouds kissing my feet.

From Converse:

To celebrate the iconic DC Comics character, Batman, CONVERSE and Warner Bros. Consumer Products, on behalf of DC Entertainment, are launching two new Converse Chuck Taylor All Star ’70 DC Comics Batman Collection sneakers for Fall 2016 featuring artwork from the DC archives.

This year, DC Comics is celebrating the 30th anniversary of Frank Miller’s seminal comic series of “The Dark Knight Returns.” Converse has created a premium Chuck Taylor All Star ’70 collection that uses a variety of artwork from the Batman comic archives over the last 77 years. Key features of the sneaker include premium leather with emboss detail, satin lining and iconic archive comics printed on a premium canvas upper. Each style includes an embossed Batman logo on the tongue, a Chuck Taylor patch, a rubber glow-in-the-dark collectible hang tag and an ice outsole with an archive print story underneath, with archive artwork on the sock liner.

The Fall 2016 Converse Chuck Taylor All Star '70 DC Comics Batman Collection will be available for purchase starting October 1, 2016 at specialty retailers, Converse stores and Converse.com. The footwear will retail for a suggested price of $115-125 USD.
