Best of 2014: What Are You Looking Forward To From 2015
Welcome back to our end of the year round-up! The categories haven't changed, but we are giving out something a little different this year to our winners... cuts. That's right, we're jumping you into the Comic Bastards winner circle! You can also listen to the "Best of 2014" podcast episode which is posted at the bottom to hear the entire list, otherwise check back for the next category. Now let's get going with our next category: What Are You Looking Forward To From 2015.
Dustin - More Comics!
2012 is still one of the best years for comics in my mind, but 2014 really brought it back around. The thing is... I think 2015 is already going after the belt as I've lost track of how many comics I'm looking forward to reading. That and there are some great comic conclusions like Mind MGMT that I'm looking forward to reading as well. 2015 is going to be big for comics in so many ways and really it's just more for us all to read and enjoy. Can't wait.
Steve - Comics, Bro!
I originally said Age of Ultron, and I am looking forward to that, but there are so many enticing comics on the list for next year, with possibly huge ramifications. Good or bad, I'm just pumped to see what's going to happen.
Kevin - Barbara Gordon Back in a Wheel Chair...Steph Brown.
I hate Babs as a Bat-anything and Steph Brown has a fan in me when Bryan Q. Miller is at the helm.
Samantha - Avengers 2
I think Ultron looks sweet. The action looks packed and the introduction of new characters will bring this all together once again.
Neil - Avengers 2
This is probably the most hyped film of next year. A monster cast, a great villain, and a great story idea. Hopefully it delivers on all the promises the trailer showed.
Jeff - Avengers 2/ Being One Year Closer to Guardians of the Galaxy 2
I was unmoved by the 'Avengers 2' trailer, but its Joss Whedon so it's still by far my summer jimmy-jam.
Nick - Secret Wars (no shame)
I don't have to explain myself to you. THIS COURTROOM IS OUT OF ORDER!
Carl - Movies
We will have a great year of comic related films.
James - Daredevil TV Show
DD has always been one of my favorites. I hear the dark tone will be there. I am hopeful.
Austin - Daredevil TV Show
Marvel has been killing it on all fronts. Daredevil is hard to execute unless creators are at their absolute best, but I have high hopes.
David - Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones
At first I had Avengers: Age of Ultron in this slot, and to be honest I probably am more excited for that movie than I am this Netflix series. However, Krysten Ritter is one of my absolute favorite actresses, and I'm so happy to see her finally get some recognition that I'm willing to make a last minute change anyway. I've seen a mixed response to the news of her casting so far, with Comic Bastards' own Dustin Cabeal being among the disbelievers. Granted, I am yet to read Alias so I'm no expert on Jessica Jones, but I have a lot of faith in Ritter and I really think she can pull this off! I hope so anyway, because if this series ends up sucking I will literally cry forever. Ok, maybe not literally.
Andre - My Mind Not Exploding/Daredevil TV show/Kelly Sue DeConnick's 'Bitch Planet'
It's a little overwhelming to be a comic book fan these days with the barrage of awesome things that are regularly released between new comic projects and adaptations. While it'll inevitablly all come tumbling down, I'm excited to ride it out. Daredevil FTW.
