Heroine Chic Season 3 Launches to Record-Breaking Readership - Webtoon Comic
Press Release
After two successful seasons, Heroine Chic has returned for a 3rd superhero chic season exclusively on LINE Webtoon – the popular digital comic publisher pioneering the development and distribution of comics worldwide. Created by David Tischman, the genre-bending mashup of superheroes and the fashion industry continues to entertain and excite readers, with the Season 3 launch of the comic series being read over 2.5 Million times in its first week. Written by Tischman (Son of Superman, Justice League: Elseworlds, Cable) and illustrated by artist Audrey Mok (Josie and the Pussycats), Heroine Chic walks the superhero genre down a new runway in an all-new 26-chapter season.
Set in a New York City full of superheroes, Heroine Chic is inspired by real-world fashion icons and designers and gives a sly, comedic look at the fashion industry and the heroes who need costumes. The story’s main character, 24-year-old Zoe Porter, is a Parsons graduate who dreams of launching her own line at Fashion Week. In Season One, Zoe works as stylist/assistant to Dyna Cuff, the biggest designer of superhero costumes in New York. Dyna is a cutting edge fashion genius but a difficult boss and her super-powered clients are vain and insecure. In Season 2, Dyna fires Zoe, and Zoe struggles to balance her own small indie design label and her relationship with adorable NYC chef, Daniel.
In the new Season 3, Zoe and Dyna are partners, but their thriving business is jeopardized when a gunman tries to kill Dyna. Even worse, Zoe has a mad crush on her roommate’s boyfriend. The drama never ends as Zoe’s forced to take action and become the hero of her own story.
“Zoe is a strong young woman with excellent taste,” Tischman said. “She’s not going to let a little drama get in her way.”
“She’s a pleasure to work with,” Tischman added.
“Heroine Chic has been an astronomical success with our readers and we are thrilled to be continuing Zoe’s adventures in season 3. This record-breaking season launch shows just how much our readers love the series and we are confident that this season will not disappoint them,” said JunKoo Kim, Founder, and Head of LINE Webtoon.
