My Pull List For 1/15/14 - Erik McAlister

Check out Erik's list of books he's looking forward to this week:

Coffin Hill #4

I’ve yet to be disappointed by this series. That’s reason enough to pick it up this week, right? I haven’t been a fan of the horror genre for that long, but I’ve had a terrific experience with it so far. I’m glad to say that it’s had a lot to do with Coffin Hill. Caitlin Kittredge and Inaki Miranda have definitely locked me in for the remainder of this arc, which apparently ends with issue #6. Probably safe to say that things are really going to pick up here pretty quick. Read the reviews for the previous issues here.

Dept. of Monsterology #4

Dept of Monsterology #4-1

It’s the end of the first arc. I would have to be crazy to miss this one. I wrote a review for the bastards this week, so if you want to know the specifics of what’s so great about it, check it out here. Renegade will definitely be getting my money on New Comic Book Day.

Velvet #3

Ed Brubaker and Steve Epting have been kicking my butt with this book. This is an Espionage/Thriller not to be missed. I was left wanting so much more at the end of the second issue that I’ve been looking for whatever previews that I could find. The combined storytelling capabilities of these two guys just keeps impressing me. Just when you thought it had reached its cap, something even better springs from it. Something like Velvet. Check out my review for issue #2 here for the bastards.

Imagine Agents #4

Another book that I’ll be picking up at the end of an arc. I’m going to be pretty bummed out when this book ends. As far as I know, there isn’t any concrete evidence of a second arc. So as far as I’m concerned, this will be the comic book event of the week. Make sure to check out my reviews for the previous issues here.

Unity #3

Called by some sites “The Comic Book Event of the Year”. It just doesn’t make any sense to be ignorant to the hype. If for no other reason at all, I’m at least going to stay up to date with what’s happening. I just don’t think that I’d be able to forgive myself for missing a single panel.
