With the child’s ability to summon a portal to another dimension, who knew that giving birth to the Antichrist would be so difficult? Things just got much more chaotic for the characters but much more interesting for the readers.

An assault on The Way compound, a red gaping void, the loss of characters and salvation in Palestine. This issue was filled with activity as every page appeared to be impactful on both story and emotion. One of the more crucial aspects of this issue is the reveal as to why Sadie is in Palestine and why she is recording her voice. Once those questions are answered it appears that Babyteeth is going to be heading in a new direction; Sadie has now fully accepted her child and will do anything to get him back.

What works well for this issue is its ability to fit different elements into the story without it feeling jumbled or disjointed. With all the major players in the comic thus far, each character gets their fair share of page time. Everything felt natural, and the story was able to flow easily while transitioning between the chaos while never losing sight of the key aspect of the series: a mother’s love for her child.

Which brings me to the empathy we feel for Sadie and her stressful situation. She has dealt with a lot from the beginning of the story and, if anything, her love for Kent has grown stronger because of this. Despite every perilous step she had to take, Sadie will protect her child at any cost and this issue exemplifies this.

With all the positives in regards to the story, the artwork, however, felt a little disarranged. For instance, Dancy’s burnt body from previous issues felt like a black silhouette with no features to resemble his crispy run-in with the demon raccoon. This is not to say that the whole issue was featureless, but some panels did feel a little dull.

All in all Babyteeth #10 is jam-packed with action and narrative. Each character in the series gets equal page time, but the real impactful moments go to Sadie and her son. Despite Kent being the next dark lord, this issue does not lose focus on the love she has for him.
