I'm still baffled as to why BOOM! decided to split each book in this mini-series into two stories. Especially when the first one is written as if it is canon, yet the second is like the Saturday morning cartoon version of canon (in that it's not). I've got no problem with the future scenes, I mean it makes sense that people are going to be dumb because they are teaching a class on Bill and Ted (we know that from the movie). The story is not particularly gripping and it doesn't really give us an insight into the Bill-N-Ted-verse.

This issue we get to meet young Chuck De Nomolos's parents. Things just don't fit well here. Chuck's father is ridiculously proportioned, the way he looks breaks the feeling that this is part of the movie-verse and is cartoonier. The dialogue is not great, especially the father; all evilness is hereditary apparently, even though the whole point of Bill and Ted is that their music brings about world peace… right?

I still like the way the book is drawn (the first story at least). That for me is probably the only thing that will get me through the book, as the story looks to be unraveling. They've done such a good job of dumbing everything down that it looks as though nothing smart ever will happen.

I really didn't like the second story this issue, none of it worked for me at all.
