Review: Bloodshot and H.A.R.D. Corps #20

“Hell yeah it keeps going!!” This explains this issue there is no slowdown from Archer and Armstrong right to this issue. If you haven’t heard yet Archer and Armstrong and Bloodshot and the H.A.R.D. Corps are crossing over. I suggest you don’t miss the action and hilarity. Bloodshot has captured Archer escaping the masonic temple. It’s now the Corps turn to take out their target Armstrong. They believe this could be easy because they have lured him away and drugged him while drinking. They soon realize that Armstrong can really drink and I mean kegs worth. The roofies have some effect and hit him hard, but not as hard as a keg to the head. Amazingly he’s still standing but giving Armstrong beer is like giving Popeye spinach.  He really is unstoppable. Armstrong and Palmer can go blow for blow with no upper hand even with Lifeline helping Palmer. The only way to slow Armstrong down is bring down the pseudo pub on his head.

BSCORPS_020_PULLBOX_MOLINAThe HARD Corps heads to the temple to meet Bloodshot with Archer using an ambulance as a disguise. They feel they have a clean get away. Armstrong is shortly on their tail but the only vehicle he could commission in the masonic mini car used in parades. The Corps is shocked but Bloodshot has an answer and throws the door open with assault rifle in hand. Armstrong luckily has brought his own arsenal… a rocket launcher.

Seamless is the best word to describe the move from one book to the other perfectly with no stopping. I love the action and the humor that is put in. I was laughing pretty hard by the end. By no means this is a comical title but it works its way in with no problem. The thing I notice with the HARD Corps is they have to be a team to defeat anyone and they have finally hit their biggest challenge. Nothing they did really had an effect until they literally brought down the house.  The action takes this issue and throws it in your face and does it well without over powering you.  The fight sequence flow naturally and I admit was rooting for Armstrong to destroy the Corps in one shot. It’s just damn entertaining and isn’t that why we are reading them.

This is a great issue that goes perfect with Archer and Armstrong #18. I really love reading it over and over. I can’t wait to read it all at once in a trade paperback. I’m glad to see good action out there in comics it’s why I love these titles and to see them crossover. Finally if seeing Armstrong in a mini car chasing down Bloodshot and team with a rocket launcher on his shoulder doesn’t make you want to buy this book I don’t know what will.

Score 5/5
