This series started off well enough and I liked the general idea of a time stream continuum. I mean in the beginning I really loved Captain Action Cat but it’s become a slow descent to disappointment. Now, everything feels rushed and well it's kind of making for a crappy plot. There actually isn't much of one anymore; we are just left with the characters getting mixed up in different eras. As each issue goes on I’m slowly becoming more and more disinterested. It’s just like enough with all the mix ups and make something actually happen! Typically I enjoy Art Baltazar’s work. I mean the dude does some pretty adorable yet entertaining stuff but as I’ve mentioned before Captain Action Cat doesn’t give you much plot to chew on. This month basically concludes the series and the resolution was anti-climactic to say the least. Nothing terribly exciting happens, all the past Action Cats collide with each other but eventually end up in their right place.

I mean a comic doesn’t necessarily have to that “ at the edge of your seat” feel but there’s got to be a least humor or deep characters, but we’re not getting anything from Captain Action Cat. All I see is that he’s cute and the villains are cute too but nothing more. However, I don’t want to completely dismiss the series because it has its moments and I really dig Baltazar’s work plus there was an amazing creative collaboration working on this one. But maybe a much younger audience would better appreciate the series.

I do think that Captain Action Cat as a hero has a lot of potential but maybe in a different adventure where can really shine. I’d like get to know Captain Action Cat better, ya know, a character with a backstory and personality. I think the real star in the series though is Dr. Evil Cat and his lineage or maybe I’m just a sucker for misunderstood villains.
