Review: Chew #47
I fucking love this comic (they swear in the comic, so I'm gonna swear in the review). This is by far and away my most anticipated comic. Everything in it is perfect. The universe they've created feels so surrealy real. You can read it multiple times, once for the story, once for the art, once for the small jokes and once again just because its so damn good. Chu and D-Bear are still partnered up and take on another food related power user. This part of the story involves a call back to the Bon Vivants (I loved that idea, and even more now that they've gone legal).
Colby is dealing with his feelings over the terrible terrible thing he did (if you didn't read it go and buy all the trades and catch up).
The small jokes that are written on things in the background are back on form after being a little sparse last issue. I don't know how much I can say about the artwork, Rob Guillory fucking kills it every single issue.
My favorite background joke was on Olive's hospital form outside her room. That or the picture next to her room. Aw hell I just like them all.
Score: 4/5
