I’m a shit for this review. I have been sitting on this issue for so long that it’s ridiculous, but I wanted to get a review done because it’s indie and I enjoy the series.

As for the issue itself, the dewinged angel comes at Ceri again, but this time she’s without Corrsolla. She gets some help from her guardian angel, but we learn that she might not be all that angelic. The plot shifts into high gear as we learn a bit more of the plans for Corrsolla that now include Ceri. As for Ceri, well she’s not having any of this shit.

That’s the good side of the story; it’s the fact that after the events of the last issue Ceri isn’t so bright and happy. She’s pissed and rightfully so, and instead of being able to deal with her emotions she’s tormented by new responsibilities that she never asked for; making her very Spider-Man esque in that the story takes on this human tone with the backdrop being fantasy.

The downside is that at times the story is a little confusing. The plot shifts in this issue, but it doesn’t feel clearly connected to the first two issues. There was a similar problem between issue one and two, but now it’s more glaring.

The artwork also has some ups and downs. Corrsolla looks just like Ceri, but with robo features; meaning when they both share the page it’s easy to tell who is who, but when they don’t you almost have to remind yourself who is who at that moment. The art has improved from the second issue, but there are some strange panel choices. While the details are better and the art more dynamic, there’s still room to improve on the flow and visual storytelling side of the artwork. Once Langell has that down, she’ll tell amazing stories with the visuals alone.

I’m still all in on this series. If anything the art style is unique enough to keep me coming back for more, but the story could use some more clarity, and the art could help in this task. Otherwise, it’s enjoyable story with a woman facing a mountain of problems but just wants to solve the one that’s distracting her from everything.
