Review: Creature Cops #3
I didn't catch the first two issues of this book, so I had no idea what I was going to see inside. I heard the name before seeing the cover. I actually wondered if the cops in this were creatures. In case you haven't seen anything to do with this comic yet, they're not. In the world of this book, there are animals that are cross-species. For example Panda-Dogs (adorable), Rhino-Dog (less adorable, more funny) or Griffins. The Creature Cops police these cross-species animals. In this issue an old case gains new grounds and then some weird stuff goes down.
The action is good, I expected action due to the 'Cops' in the title. I wasn't expecting some of it to be brutal though due to the 'Creatures'. The story is self-contained and I didn't need the previous issues to get everything out of this story. They do allude to stuff from the past, but whether that was actually shown in the first two issues, I wouldn't know.
The colors and lines make the characters feel flat, especially with regards to a bearded man at the end of the story. The creatures however look great, it's obvious this is where most of the creativity was spent. The PanDogs are adorable, The RhinoDog is cute in a different way and the end of issue Bad Creature looks great too.
If you want some cute animal hybrids in your stories then check this book out.
