Review: Dragon Ball Super E.70
By Robert Ramos
What? A review for an episode of Dragon Ball Super? You’re goddamn right it is! I initially wanted to write a review of the previous arc and that idea went down the drain, but after watching last week’s episode, I just HAD to share this episode with you guys.
This episode is filler. There's going to be a major arc this February and that is looking to be fucking killer. Anyway, regardless of this being a filler episode, it was fantastic. Universe 6 vs. Universe 7 in a game of baseball. Yup, a fucking baseball game between two universes and it’s a fucking romp.
For the sake of argument, I’m just going to assume you all are familiar with the characters and their backgrounds. If I had to explain the lot, this would take way too long. Yamcha is coaching Universe 7’s team and no one else has a clue on what or how to play baseball. That is where the hilarity ensues. There’s just something hilarious about Goku transforming to Super Saiyan Blue, powering up to make the pitch, and then destroying part of the field with said pitch. It’s great and I could not get enough of it.
While watching everyone make attempts at playing a normal game of baseball was funny, the real laughter came from the beating poor Yamcha took. Getting hit by a pitch from Vegeta, having a ball thrown at him by Champa, but the part where I laughed the most? Yamcha, while on the field, gets caught up in the fight between Champa and Beerus, ultimately leaving him in an all too familiar pose at home plate. Krillin even said, “I remember seeing this pose somewhere. It’s a bitter memory.” I lost my shit there.
Ok, so I may have spoiled the entire episode, but you should still watch it for yourself. All in all, this episode was a blast. Anime needs filler likes this, to lighten up the tone and make things fun again.
Score: 4/5
