Masks 2 #2, opens with the party from last time. Gone are the Green Hornet and Shadow (for now at least). This issue instead follows a character we later find out is called Miss Fury, if you don't know this character already she looks like Catwoman with a red cape. Miss fury spends most of this issue roaming the corridors trying to track down and open a safe. It's here she bumps into the Black Sparrow. The two go from fighting each other to, tag-teaming against some skull mask minions and then divulging their life-stories. If any of this sounds inconsistent and weird, it's because it is. It starts well, but the way the info-dumping is 'worked' (and I use the word worked very lightly) in, is not good. The characters go from one emotion to another like they are playing hop-scotch, happy-fighty-sad-introspective-angry-confused. This is not a good way to introduce two characters to readers who don't know who they are.

The artwork is a lot lighter this time what with most of the panels taking place in rooms lit by fluorescent lights. There are a few too many panels dedicated to Miss Fury wandering around the halls trying to find the safe. I liked the skull-mask minions, who have anime like expression markers, like tears. The masks also change to show their emotions, like Skeletor in He-man, one has a worried look and is screaming as he gets thrown through the air.

I don't know how this figures into the whole story, especially with the way it ends. I'm left wondering where the Green Hornet is and what he was doing while the two girls become gal-pals over mutual ass-kicking ability. My remaining feeling after this issue is that it feels rushed.
