Tank Girl: Gold is the first TG series I've ever read, which I know is blasphemy among certain comic book circles. I own some of the trades, I got the gist of it before, but I just never gave it the time of day. So glad I did now, as this is one title that I look forward to. Last issue saw the resurrection of Sub Girl as well as the discovery of billions of dollars worth of gold on the sub. Other stuff happened, including that dingo (name forgotten) getting some action that caused his..... member to get swollen. STD? I guess. The whole this is weird, but in a fun way. Don't read into it so much.

We begin with the group sitting around figuring out how to spend all their newfound wealth. Everyone is suggesting things when Tank Girl discusses the idea of wanting to start a new national sport, which after some debating is called crennis. Not only crennis, but Australian rules crennis. The next few pages are a completely awesome old-timey looking fill in to the rules of crennis, which was hilarious and informational.

We move ahead into the home of a General Fletcher, who is watching crennis while lounging in his tighty-whiteys, drinking and smoking a cigar. General Fletcher, it is revealed, has been searching for TG ever since she deserted the Australian army and stole one of their tanks. He orders the army down to the stadium and they try to get Tank Girl, although she and the gang make a quick getaway. Back at the nice pad the gang decides they need something new to do after the whole sports fiasco, deciding on making a big time Hollywood movie. They do, and it ends up being some wacky space movie, which does end up making it to theater and makes them all famous.

This book is so hard to recap into a review. There is so much going on, so many jokes and funny things drawn in to every panel, but I don't mind. If anything I hope this review sparked enough interest in you that you're willing to go pick it up and read it yourself. The art is fantastic and every panel is so well done. The story is very entertaining and I never know what will happen next. Go check this out!
