This issue starts with some intense drama between Old Hob and Splinter. Splinter finally breaks the news that the Turtles will not be joining him on their mission as of right now. Then we jump into Fugitoid telling Krang that Shredder and the Foot are going to attack the island. Krang is pissed. As pissed as I have ever seen him. All of these characters are finally going to cross paths in this issue. It is crazy to think about the road that lead to all of this. It seems all things are coming to a gigantic cluster but hopefully the Turtles can come through in the end. My biggest concern is the team up happening. I never thought that Shredder and Donnie would come together, and frankly I still don’t believe it. There has got to be an ulterior motive at least for one side. I think they both may have something planned. My guess would be that at least Splinter and Shredder. How can Splinter work with his biggest foe and not do something about it? Shredder took Leo not too long ago and that is something that no one will forget. Then again, we all know what the larger threat is, so wouldn’t Splinter be stupid to risk everything when New York City could be taken over by Krang. But this is all speculation before reading this issue. Believe me there are lots of layers happening. So let’s dive in...
Donnie transports the Turtles to Burnow Island. Donnie, Bebop, and Rocksteady stay behind while Shredder and his gang jump to Burnow Island to destroy Krang. Donnie has to stay behind to handle the technical stuff and Bebop and Rocksteady to watch over Donnie. It is quite sad to see Donnie say goodbye to his brothers. I just get such a bad feeling about this next couple of issues. You just can’t help but feel like you are walking on pins and needles. Everything is so intense and your mind immediately goes to the worst place possible. The rest of the Turtles go to Burnow Island but for very different reasons. They want to take down the Technodrome. And Old Hob and Splinter now have to attack the weaken Foot Clan for revenge on Shredder.
This last part worries me... a lot. Even though Splinter is the most badass of them all, I hate when he is not with his family. Plus with all the emotions inside of him, he could really make a bad move. But then again, I haven’t been this excited about TMNT since City Fall. Plus I don’t know why, but Old Hob seems to have a high respect for Splinter and all that he does. Maybe it is Old Hob wishing he had a family like Splinter does or just being in aw of Splinter’s abilities. Either way, I think if it came down to it, Hob would save that rat’s life. So get ready, because I love how the high intensity and the backstabbing going on all over the place. These next couple of issues will bring it and TMNT fans are ready.
