Review: TMNT: New Animated Adventures #21

The first story in this issue involve Baxter Stockman and Spyder-Bytes (as seen on the two covers). The story is fairly predictable and involves a lot of the characters standing around and talking. TMNT_Animated21_cvrNot much happens until the end of the story leaving on a cliffhanger for next issue (as usual). This is a good time for me to ask, why are comics that are oriented towards kids split into multiple stories? Can kids these days not read 25-30 pages? Can they only focus for 12?

The second story is self-contained. It's fun and made me wonder what was going on as it was a bit weird. It resolves nicely, as these one-shots usually do.

The artwork is, in general, good. Every now and then the turtles shape doesn't feel right or the faces don't look right. There wasn't that much to sink your eyes into this issue. I really like the show, not every episode is a hit but I like it as a whole, but this comic is not really giving me anything extra. For the younger ausience or the super-fan this comic still holds it's worth for me, I think I'll leave it be.

Score: 2/5
