Review: X-O Manowar #20

The “Unity” crossover continues as Aric, who has garnered the attention of Ninjak, now deals with Harada’s superhero team, Unity.  Although he’s from centuries ago, Aric proves to be the best hero in comics today.  He proves it by plunging into the ocean in the ship he set as a trap.  Stripped of his armor, Aric fights with his own strength and wits against Unity and Ninjak. X-O is everything that Iron Man isn’t.  The title hero shows his prowess in and out of his armor.  Additionally, he leads his displaced people while defending them from modern day threats.  Although the Vine have gone, the action continues with the X-O story developing with new threats and twists.  This is the most consistently entertaining comic book available, and it’s all because the creative team knows how to develop character, conflict, and excitement while never feeling old and cliché.

The Unity war has been a great place for Aric to prove that he’s a hero to cheer.
