Review: Zombies vs. Robots #3

This comic is bat-shit crazy. Then again what do you expect from something with the title "Zombies vs Robots." But this comic isn't just robots and zombies, nope, we've got humans and in this issue something new has arrived. I have no idea what is going to happen in each book or which part of the story I'm going to see. The book is a collection of schizophrenic snapshots that never let you get comfortable in the story world (or care about the characters in it). It's like the creators are saying "Not interested yet, here have some of this, interested now?" No, I'm not.

ZvR03_cvrAThere's one moment where the here-to-for unseen narrator pops up to ask us if we're shocked about the dramatic event that just happened. Only it's not dramatic at all because we've only seen the character it refers to once or twice. We have no connection to the character so this dramatic event falls flat. Oh yeah and it's issue THREE, you keep throwing shit at the page and expect a certain reaction but that's not how it works.

The artwork is as schizophrenic as the writing and also takes away from the feeling of being really involved. Some panels are amazing others are not.

If they'd taken one of the five or six story-lines they're trying to jam together and run it in chronological order weaving the other stories in organically, I might have been interested. But this is a hot mess (I'm English but I infer that that means bad). I'll stick with a comic if it makes me feel something, unfortunately the only emotion this comic brings me is anger, towards myself for continuing to read it. As such I'm gonna have to drop this comic.

If you think this is harsh or you are truly enjoying it, please leave me a comment and explain to me what I'm missing
