Worst of 2016: Kennel Block Blues

By Dustin Cabeal

What was the point of this story? No really, what was the point? Because I’m fairly sure that it got lost in its own premise. Maybe if it weren't anthropomorphic animals, it would have worked better or if it didn’t invalidate the anthropomorphic animals by having that also be a work of fiction within the story. Then there was the “Disney” style of animation that only one of the characters could see that was supposed to add something to the story. God only knows what because it was just a mess of meta bullshit that didn’t work on any front.

I’m not a fan of anthropomorphic stories in general. Unless they’re pivotal to the plot, you’re just using them for the novelty of the art and weakening your own story. Point in case, Kennel Block Blues.
