Z2 Comics, the New York-based boutique publisher announced today their partnership with new mobile content provider Tapas to make two titles available to readers on their mobile phones: Legend, the critically-acclaimed post-apocalyptic animal story from Sam Sattin (The Silent End) and Chris Koehler; and Ian McGinty’s Welcome to Showside, one of the most buzzed about new independent comic books of 2015, which debuts on the mobile platform today.

Tapas, which launched in April, is using the proven mechanics of mobile games (micro-transactions) to change how artists and creators monetize their work on mobile platforms. Adding to the community they’ve already built with their comics platform Tapastic, the Tapas app gives readers a diverse selection of curated content to read on the go. Via Tapas, Welcome to Showside #1 will be available as five short chapters, or episodes. The first two episodes from Welcome to Showside #1, will be available for free, the second episode via one of the free keys Tapas provides new users. The three additional episodes will be available within the app with credits purchased for $0.50 each.
