The battle between good and evil is always more than what can be seen. The fate though hinges on one person who has the power, but has to accept who he is and his fate. Sure a pretty normal sounding story but this one has a different twist that kept me reading. In other news a new speaker of the house has been named. Senator Graham was ready for the news to be leaked because of his enemies. Mr. Rameel assures the him not to worry about his enemies that is his problem to deal with.
John is reluctant in accepting his fate as a savior of this world. John is training with those that are called True Bloods and they are beginning to wonder if John really is the one? He ends up kicking some ass then gets his ass kicked. John leaves in disgust with his own mission on his mind. He takes the subway looking for trouble and detects one guy who is not of this world. Destroying this fallen has brought unwanted attention to John.
This book keeps my attention not because of the base story which there is many out there, but how the characters interact and the tone of it. As you read you get the sense that John is a true loner, the fallen want him dead and the True Bloods want nothing to do with him. Plus those who find out his true background want him dead too. The simple part that you can feel that there is an awesomeness to John, but he can't tap into it fully makeing the story interesting. The art is dark and dreary which set the mood perfectly. It amplifies the tone of the chaos that is about to ensue.
Picking up this book even though in the middle of the arc can still get you right in the action. Mainly because the main action is just starting. It is a good story to pick up is you are looking for the lone savior of the world story. It has enough twist and turns to make our stand out from the norm.
