Review: Archer & Armstrong #23

Wild crazy action comedy adventure should sum up the title nicely. I’m also sure you could add many more adjectives. This is one of the truly unique titles out there and unique stories out there too. Mr Morrison now has his hands on the Wheel on Aten and is going to unleash his plan. He will be using his pawn Parcy Vale to do so. The Wheel has kept legends alive because of the faith people have in them. Morrison now plans use the worthless faith of the fans of Percy to release the power of the Wheel and complete his plan.

AA_023_COVER_WALSHArcher and Armstrong after battling each other start working together again to defeat Morrison. Hopefully their plan that took centuries to develop comes through.

This story arc has rocked literally and figuratively. This issue isn’t as strong as the climax in the last issue but still enjoyable. It matched all the pieces well with the flashback to the past the set so many things in motion. The story flows nicely and the art matches, that puts its as one of my top books every time. Its the perfect blend between buddy action story and the action they come across that builds the story so well. The great part of this arc has been the covers. I love the Sargent Peppers cover. The covers have been brilliantly designed for the story of america wasteland theme twisting up very iconic images.

I highly recommend this book and title. it not the perfect issue to jump right in but you can catch up quickly and it moving nicely to the next. Archer & Armstrong is one of the strongest titles from Valiant and doesn't disappoint.
