Review: Bloodshot #24

Sometimes enjoying a single issue can be the best thing in comics and a single issue among an ongoing series can help just bring in some new readers.  Another reason is you get the best of a character you love in one nice package. BLOOD_024_COVER_SANDOVALBack in 2000 sleeper cells have come out bringing down Ukraine democracy. A specialist was sent in to break the sleepers, that specialist being Bloodshot. These sleepers were made during the end of the cold war. Bloodshot is using his skills to infiltrate the structure, cunning stealth and nanite camouflage. When all else fails brute power.  After his first attempts fails, Bloodshot luckily overhears how to infiltrate the system during his escape creating a plan B.  Bloodshot has his chance after intercepting the route of Admiral Golov.

This is a nice one-shot issue that breaks up and regroups a series back to the basics. It showcases the talents and purpose that Bloodshot was made. It also shows near the end that he realizes his human side of his existence too. This book really doesn’t stand out among the other issues I have read, but is a good one-shot that sums up his character.

The art is clean and shows the action well. The coloring is good and you do get the feeling that you are sitting in a command center of screens and computers.

This is a good simple pickup to get a series back on track after being part of so many crossovers. The book sums up the inner aspects of Bloodshot before he had to break from Project Rising Spirit and that works just fine.
