Review: Ghosted #2

So there’s this comic book called from the Image/Skybound by the name of Ghosted. Its premise of a con-man and his ragtag team of sassy pants that are hired to steal a ghost is a pretty interesting one. High concept aside does this book have what it takes to really impress with its second issue? Now settled into the Trask mansion, Jackson meets up with his team as they sit around going over their ghost stealing endeavor. As night approaches the team takes off into the mansion and begins to snoop around.

The professional con artist of the team, Robby Trick starts to dig through the library until he finds the cliché hidden passage behind a bookcase. Once inside he travels down a hallway that ends with a door. Inside he finds more than he bargained for. Terrified, he runs to find Jackson.

As the team exits the Trask estate for the night, since they can’t be in there at night due to fact that it’s too brutal? Edzia shares her plans with the team and an undisclosed list of items that she needs. One of the items on the list is something that is owned by Jackson’s current employer, Markus Schrecken.

This issue had its mandatory ghost parts sprinkled in here and there which was nice for a comic called Ghosted. It also had Jackson and all his cool guy lines. “We’re off like a prom dress”, classic Jackson. Other than sassy Jackson not too much happened within this book. It felt like a roller coaster pulling you up for the first drop then all of a sudden it stops before the drop. Then the park attendants just talk to you for 22 pages about nothing. Overall it wasn’t a bad issue; it just felt as if the momentum went south.

Here’s hoping that issue three is a real kick in the pants and Ghosted can really show what it’s got!
