Review: Injustice - Gods Among Us: Year Two #1

Last year a fighting game came out called Injustice: Gods Among Us. There was a comic that coincided with the game. There were 36 issues and they single handily told the most interesting story with DC characters that I've read in a very long time, possibly ever.  Welcome to now and Year Two of the Injustice comic is here and I will tell you one thing, this party can go all night long. Three friends and co-workers, Oliver Queen, Hal Jordan and Dinah Lance walk down the street reminiscing about a victory that they have all agreed has earned them a drink at their local pub. As they enter, Hal makes excuses to cut out and head home in fears of being a “Third Wheel”. Once in the pub and drinking, Oliver and Dinah beam as they engage in a playful banter while Hal sulks. All of this is interrupted as rude Biker makes his presence known. In a flash Dinah puts the Harley ridding thug on his ass. The three friends laugh it off and enjoy their drinks.

Injustice Gods Among Us - Year Two #1Now after the events of the first series (Injustice: GAU: Year One) Dinah and Hal stand over Oliver’s grave along with a handful of heroes. As the crowd disperses, Dinah asks Hal if he still stands with Superman. Hal tries to explain himself but Dinah turns her back. Hal leaves and Superman appears. He tries to apologize for his actions but he soon learns more than he expected.

Word on the streets is that some fans were butt-hurt with Tom Tayor’s work with Injustice My guess is the story is packing too much “balls department” and that’s the reason everyone’s butt-hole clinched up. Injustice is refreshing, engaging and a hell of a lot of fun to read.

Pick it up because it’s different, its fun, it reads like and Elseworlds and that’s awesome.
