Just as last month, I'm finding the story line hard to get into. It's not terribly complicated or anything like that; it's just underwhelming and a bit disorganized. The series started off entertaining but it's losing its touch. This is unfortunate because there are some pretty amazing elements. For one thing, the art is beautiful; most of the scenes are definitely print worthy. I also like the idea of multiple female heroines so it's too bad that the plot kind of stinks right now. While most of this issue felt like filler the ending actually piqued my interest but I don't think good comics are supposed to grab your attention at the end though. Let me just tell you what happened in this issue. Cameron is still looking for Lola and trying to figure out some way to pay off her debt. The ring leader of the Carnies is pissed about them running way and from what I gather he's a tyrant ass wipe. There's a whole lotta violence that again felt a little like filler scenes even though they were beautifully illustrated. Even if the story line was utter garbage, it could probably redeem itself with the artwork. The usage of soft lines and colors really adds a unique look. The conclusion of the issue is where the real juice is, Lola gets ambushed by some weird human demon hybrids. I was really caught by surprise by this, I mean I know that this takes place in a post-apocalyptic type world but I wasn't expecting anything supernatural as it was never hinted at until now that these beings existed.

With an ending like that, I'm still crossing my fingers for Lola XOXO to improve its story line. Maybe as the series goes it will come together better. I'm really rooting for Lola and I hope she doesn't turn into an empty-headed damsel in distress character.
