Keijo is a ridiculous show. It’s a show, when described to other people, invokes a certain look. One that’s along the lines of “Hentai.” The premise is butt sumo… okay, butt sumo with books and a lot of other twists. It’s like DBZ and sumo… with butts and boobs. Now, that sounds dumb and perverted, but there is something stupidly amazing about this show. I haven’t been able to stop watching it, and I pray each and every day that there will be a spinoff starring men.

From the super moves to the rich character development, there is a lot more than just fan service going on in this series. The four main girls we follow in the story work their way up from the general studies course to part of the elite course only to have to reinvent themselves to stand on equal footing against another butt sumo school. There are jokes; there’s a character that pulls playing cards out of her ass, a butt vacuum canon and a judo throw done with an erect nipple. It’s amazing. It might not be your cup of tea at first, but if you give it four episodes and put the fan service behind you, you’ll see that there’s a lot of great humor and story going on in Keijo.
