Who can stop Bloodshot? Who can rescue Bloodshot? Who can stop Toyo Harada? Sure there are a lot of questions but we get some answers here. There are so many projects here, corps there, but you don’t get lost. This is a perfect set up to a new story arc. Toyo Harada has Bloodshot captured doing everything, extracting the nanites without awaking the core destruction he can cause. With heavy sedatives and a life support tank Toyo is becoming successful so he can search them for his gain.
Major Palmer original CO of the H.A.R.D. Corps is brought back out of retirement to head up the reactivated corps. He has some qualms about the reactivation and the recruitment class. Major Palmer doesn’t trust the “Suits” even though they say everything has been upfront. The recruits come from all backgrounds and are promised the world to join but I don’t believe they know how dangerous the missions the H.A.R.D Corps face are. They are a special Corp with implants in their brain giving them up to 17 new talents thru ‘Lifeline’.
This story sets up beautifully the next chapter in Bloodshot. Don’t expect what you have seen in previous issues. It builds on previous stories, but doesn’t make it hard to jump right in. It does lack the action you're familiar with, but that builds a great foundation for the next chapter. It doesn't throw a bunch of new characters a you at once but introduces them but they focus one-on-one to give you a little back ground.
The art is beautiful and highly detailed. The emotions are easily seen you can feel the cold and hurt of a war torn Major. The colors used make the laboratories feel cold and dark compared to the warm colors for the feel of home. It is also just tells the story well because of the high detail.
This is the perfect jumping on point for Bloodshot. It may not be the action pack but build to the action coming. I feel Hell is going to break loose soon from the tension that is built.
