DC Announces the Year of Wonder with New Wonder Woman Creative Teams for 2027

DC has announced the Year of Wonder, a 2027 celebration of its main Wonder Woman comic series. Louise Simonson and Cian Tormey begin a four-issue story in Wonder Woman #41 on January 20, followed by a six-issue arc from Stephanie Williams and Elena Casagrande.

Simonson and Tormey’s story follows Diana as she works to abolish the Amazon Safety Act and make it possible for the Amazons to return to Man’s World. The question is whether her sisters still want to help a humanity that has put them through so much.

Simonson’s arc runs through issues #41–44. Williams and Casagrande take over for issues #45–50, continuing the celebration through October 2027. Williams says her story will include a Nubia team-up. DC plans to announce additional creators and stories later.

Wonder Woman #41 features a main cover by Ryan Sook, variants by Daniel Sampere, Walter Simonson and Cian Tormey, a foil variant by David Nakayama, and a Sweater Weather variant by Alexander Lozano. The 32-page issue is priced at $4.99, with card stock variants at $5.99.

The supplied cover gallery includes Sook’s main cover and variants by Tormey, Sampere and Nakayama. DC labels the Sampere artwork as not final.
