The Marvel Cinematic Universe is an already well-established gold mine which has pulled in mass audiences every year since the release of Iron Man in 2008. DC have arrived late to the party with their extended universe, and Man of Steel was the studio’s first offering in 2013. There is a lot of work to be done to be able to contend with the might of Marvel and their already much-loved characters, but expanding the franchise beyond cinema is one way of attracting wider audiences.

In the past, Marvel aimed to reach beyond its usual demographic of Millennials who make up 68.18% of the fan base, by partnering with Playtech to make online slots.
