By no means am I saying that this cover is "good art" or even "classic", but can we take a moment to just appreciate the fact that something like this is still being made? Let's face it, we all love bad comic art as much as we love good comic art and a few artists have even made their fucking entire career off of bad art. Not that this is bad per se, but Archie is completely stiff and flying nuts first into a tree and somehow he doesn't have to bend his legs or move his hips to do this. And yet it's pretty amazing. It makes me want to see Archie take a tree shot to the nuts and then the rest of the issue they're just in the ER and suddenly it gets heavy as Archie might loose his balls and never have little Archie's running around with Strawberry blonde hair. Yeah, that's right, I got deep and picked a side.
There's no story here, I just wanted everyone to appreciate this cover and maybe realize that there's a place and should be a place for all types of art and style of comics. Maybe we don't need to modernize and reboot everything, but rather simply appreciate that we can have it all.
If you want to find out what actually happens to Archie's nuts, consider picking up Betty & Veronica Comics Double Digest #249 out this week from Archie Comics.
