Review: Borderlands #7

I really don't know what to expect when I open this comic. That goes for all the elements. I don't know if the jokes are going to be funny. I don't know what the story is going to involve. I don't know what the general quality will be. BorderlandsTV07-coverI have to reiterate that I enjoyed the game. It may not seem like it from the way I bash this comic, but something just doesn't seem to work. It's like a jigsaw puzzle with half the pieces just jammed into place, sure they fit but their just wrong.

The jokes in particular just don't work for me (and probably you unless you find sandwiches hilarious). Adding punch to Brick’s dialogue got old a few issues back, I know it’s part of his character but it doesn't flow well.

There's a bit of deviation from the game, but the extra stuff isn't so amazing that you'll be dying to tell your mates about it. Unfortunately this is a comic for hardcore fans of the games, but it doesn't give them much either.

I like to judge a comic based on if it makes me feel something, anything. If it raises a smile, gets a chuckle, makes me cringe, or cry then it will get a score worthy of that. If the book keeps me interested to the end it will rack up some points. But if the book makes me bored and not want to even get to the end (I did read to the end, for you guys. so you don't have to) then it gets a...
