The Prince of Saiyans has definitely received his fair share in this series, watching him flourish into an outstanding warrior that Earth can be proud of. It was unbearable to watch are prideful Saiyan go down in this episode, but he certainly gave it his all with the remaining strength he had.

Episode 128 follows on Vegeta taking on Jiren alone with zero energy left in him. There is a lot of admiration for the character after watching him grow out of his macho pride and into a compassionate father. Cheering for him was a difficult task because his elimination seemed evident after watching him miss every single punch and taking every blow. His very last strength was gained from Bulma and his student Cabba. He is reminded of his purpose to win the tournament and we transition to flashbacks of his most infuriating moments with his family and significant ones like holding Bulla for the first time. It was an eyesore to watch the Saiyan fail miserably, but the touching side story was impactful and long waited for him to share. If it is one thing that the Super series succeeded in doing, is bringing our understated Z warriors in the light of this show and appreciating their dynamic growth through their journey. 

After Vegeta's elimination, Goku steps into battle against Jiren. The music sets in a thrilling tone for this scene as if being placed in a video game and battling against the last boss fight. Goku's limits are pushed and received some brutal beat down. One step from being eliminated and he finally snaps into "ultra-instinct" when his strength surfaced through the trust of his beloved friends and surprisingly, from Frieza too. 

I am disappointed with Jiren's development to this point of the series. His background and fixation for justice create him into a bland character. In this situation, it's hard to make up what he is, an anti-hero? Or a selfish warrior trying to survive? I hope his character breaks and transforms, similar to Hit when he broke out of his shell with Goku. As powerful as Jiren is, he is the least of my favorite and strongest foes. 

Not a lot of action and thrill was focused on episode 128 and centers in our remaining warriors with heartfelt stories and discovering their motivations. Vegeta's exit was unbearable to watch and hoped It would have ended sooner, but the plus side is witnessing his emotional growth. At last, the episode ends in a grownd shaking stare down between Jiren and Goku and we wait for the anticipated power fight that distinguishes the fate of Earth.
