Review: Godzilla #11

Boxer, Harrison, and Hikari pilot MechaGodzilla to California where Godzilla battles Hedorah, the Smog Monster.  Meanwhile Battra fights SpaceGodzilla and Anguilas fights Gigan.

Not a bad start.

Fans should know that Godzilla performs a key move done in Godzilla vs. The Smog Monster, so keep an eye out for that little Easter egg.

After that, it’s just a monster battle royale as Boxer and his crew head to New York with Kumonga to battle Monster X.

Don’t expect anything deep or thought provoking with this issue.  Do expect monster fights and more monster fights.  That’s how a Godzilla comic book needs to be done.

Pick up this issue and buy a separate copy to let IDW know that this, like Godzilla Half-Century War, is how a Godzilla comic needs to be done.

Knowing IDW, though, next month the continuity will shift and we will have a reset of the character with no closure to this story line.

Prove me wrong, IDW.  Prove me wrong.
