Well in layman's terms Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition, is an upgraded PlayStation 4 and Xbox One port of Square Enix's 2012 open-world action game. It also comes with $85 of DLC missions and if you pre-order you can have that pretty sweet looking, 28 page art book.
Welcome to Hong Kong, a vibrant neon city teaming with life, whose exotic locations and busy streets hide one of the most powerful and dangerous criminal organizations in the world: the Triads.
In this open-world game, you play the role of Wei Shen, an undercover cop trying to take down the Triads from the inside. You'll have to prove yourself worthy as you fight your way up the organization, taking part in brutal criminal activities without blowing your cover.
Torn between your loyalty to the badge and the code of the triads, you will risk everything as the lines between truth, loyalty and honor become permanently blurred.
In all accounts Sleeping Dogs was a very fun game. I'm a huge Asian cinema fan and I thought that they handled the Hong Kong undercover police story narrative very well. The price is a little on the high side but it would be totally worth it on sale or grabbing a used copy. On a side note Microsoft gave it away on the X-Box Live Gold game give away program earlier this year for 360 owners.
Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition can be yours on October 14 for $59.99
