It’s a new year, and it’s time for the anticipation to begin for all of this year’s next gen console video game releases. Recently I have upgraded my Xbox 360 to an Xbox One, and during that time I got familiar with some of the games that became popular for the system in 2014. Now, I am looking ahead and waiting with full anticipation for this year crop of games. The list I composed is mainly games I will get on day one. I am sure as the year continues there will be other games added to this list, but I thought it be best to start with a small list and build from there. Here are my five most anticipated games for Xbox One in 2015.
1) Evolve
The minute I heard the idea behind the game I was sold. The game is mostly a multiplayer where you have one player as the monster and four other players’ team up in different roles to take down the monster. It’s a very cool idea, it’s kind of taking the juggernaut mode from Halo and expanding on it. What I like really like about Evolve is that the environment around you is still interactive while you are playing as the hunters which balances the 4-on-1 encounter. If multiplayer is not your thing, no problem. The developers have announced recently that you can play solo with AI as your ally and playing as the Monster. Everybody wins with this game.

The game is slated to be released Feb. 10.
2) HALO 5
This game I am looking forward to with much anticipation. After Bungie left Microsoft with Breach I thought the franchise was done. However 343 Studios have picked up the franchise and judging by the videos the game looks amazing, and the story has got me intrigued as well. Clearly, Microsoft knew what it was doing by giving its biggest property to this developer. The game is slated to release later this year. Microsoft as also released a beta if you purchase the Master Chief collection for Xbox one.

3) Mighty No. 9
I am putting this game on the list because its slated on some web sites as releasing sometime in the 2nd quarter of this year. This game looks amazing with a beautiful combination of 3D and 2D side scrolling action. What makes this game also great is the fact that it combines the great gameplay of two Mega Man titles from the franchise into one, but still looks unique in its gameplay. Many critics have agreed that this is one of the most anticipated games for all consoles and PC.

4) Mortal Kombat X
Koming from the huge success of MK9, MK10 is looking like a total upgrade from the previous game. The trailer looked amazing and the fighting mechanics are looking solid. The one fighter that I am looking forward to this year.

5) Ori and the Blind Forest
A game four years in the making and so far this game is looking visually impressive. “A love Letter to 16bit and 8 bit games” according to Moon Studios as it plays to classic platform games. This game came out of nowhere for me but damn this game looks beautiful and fun. A must own for all gamers.
