Josie and the Pussycats are on this list for no other reason than being the biggest missed opportunity. It wasn’t that this story was offensively bad. No, it’s because it played it safe. It didn’t try to reinvent the wheel which is exactly what’s bad about it. It’s a part of the entirely different and rebooted Archie line and yet the only thing new about it was the art.
I could go on and on about what they could have done different, but really it won’t change what they did which is rely on the name and art to see books, rather than delivering a story that was anywhere close to what Archie is doing.
