Review: Bloodshot and H.A.R.D. Corps #17

Wednesday, Wednesday, Wednesday, Action, Action, Action all come together here in one book. Sure you don’t need a monster truck intro but this book throws the action at you. We aren’t talking cheesy action movie, but something with depth. So enjoy because I hope I’m not the only one. We focus on one member from the corps, Superstar on the day he left home. Not because of his mother, but for his mother doing everything he can for her. He has a secret mission finding the weapon he has been asked to search for. Superstar uses his environment to his advantage to take down his foes. Mainly he knows once he gets to a certain place in the Harada facility his foes can’t go all out to stop him because they don’t want to damage Harada projects. Superstar starts to wonder though if his alternative mission is worth losing everyone else.  As a frantic call is put out that Palmer is Facing Harada only Superstar makes the decision to forgo his mission and help Palmer saving the crew.

BSCORPS_017_COVER_ROSSMOBloodshot in the med lab is faced with what his rogue nanites have become. He is literally fighting for his life as the rogue nanites Harada extracted are tearing him apart and trying to relieve him of the rest of the nanites. Bloodshot finally gives in and let’s all of the nanites choose whether they want freedom or not.

I wouldn’t call this a conclusion but a good breaking point where this story left off. Unlike what happens in most action packed media there is actual depth and drive to the story. I do love how the action jumps off the page and engages you. There has been a different twist when the H.A.R.D Corps started with Bloodshot; that difference is you do get a glimpse of the member’s history in the H.A.R.D. corps.  What make this interesting is you don’t get the feel that they are just another super solider that’s expendable. Bloodshot’s character is written finally with some physical flaws that make him human.  But the best is that this book leaves you with a close, but you know there is something bigger brewing for later.

This book accomplishes one thing closure and finally tying up some lose ends. A must have if you have followed the arc but if you are looking at a jumping on point wait until next month.  Sorry to say to wait because Bloodshot is awesome but I don’t want you to be lost. But sit back and enjoy the action that is Bloodshot.
