Review: Legenderry- A Steampunk Adventure #4

Here we are again with another issue of Legenderry. Last month I almost thought that we lost Magna for good when she fell into the sea yet she thrives on. Magna journeys on to what seems like a small tropical island where she is rescued by a mechanical dog named Devil. I think this is actually my favorite character so far, he adds a little fun and humor to the issue. I hope to see more of him in the series. I am starting to feel a little burnt out on this arc. I don’t think that there’s a whole lot wrong with it but it is progressing slowly. It’s becoming this cycle of Magna running from the bad guys and playing the damsel in distress while some beefy hero helps her out. I enjoy the series but I think I need more drama or something. Especially, since we are only getting small glimpses at the villainous scheme that is arising.

Legenderry04-Cov-Benitez copy 2There is a little romance going on between Magna and the Phantom which spices things up a bit and she does decide she needs to be strong so things are looking up in regards to that. So I’ll give it brownie points for that, I’m just hoping from here on out she won’t play such a helpless character.

I don’t feel like there’s a whole lot to tell you about this issue so I’m going to keep it fairly short, since there was no plot twist or must know information. Magna got rescued, killed a mutant beast thing and now she’s moving on to bigger and better things, I guess.

The biggest appeal for me at least is the art in this series. The steampunk style and all the details of the wardrobe are on point. I will never doubt you, Davila.
