Review: Shaolin Cowboy #2

You know when you watch a TV show and they just take the same joke too far until someone kills it?  That’s pretty much how I felt reading The Shaolin Cowboy #2. For the first four pages or so I was just enthralled by Geof Darrow’s great artwork and the Shaolin Cowboy himself gracefully slicing and dicing zombies with his double-sided chainsaw staff… and then I got to the tenth page, surely there will be some plot advancement or character development… nope.

You get thirty-three pages of The Shaolin Cowboy showing off his moves on some zombies in the same desert locale we were introduced to in the first issue.  That’s it.

Was it great to look at through?  Sure.  Can I recommend paying the 399 cents they advertise to buy it?  No.  Just go to the comic store and you can flip through it before you get the stuff on your pull list.
