Last month I didn’t get a chance to write a review for issue #2 so let me just give you a general overview of what happened. First you get to see a lot of more of Nimitz and I really enjoyed learning about this unusual creature. Nimitz is more than just a pet to Honor but almost like a familiar and I like that kind of companionship it shows a softer side of her. We also see some strict enforcement of cargo inspections and I think this becomes a catalyst for what we begin to see in issue #3. In Issue #3, I think readers can start to sense the urgency which I think helps stitch together the downfall of our heroine. We also start to see tensions growing and people are losing their lives on a grander scale as the crackdown on smugglers seems to send a world wind of chaos towards Honor’s way.

I tried coming into issue 2 and 3 with an open mind and honestly, I can’t say that I like it. I mean yea, there is less problematic content that I’ve mentioned in a previous review so yay for that but it’s actually kind of hard to get through these comics. There’s way too much dialogue and I feel bombarded with information that is crammed into a short issue. It makes it difficult to sort out the plot and to connect with the characters. I do like that it is narrated by Honor with the hopes of catching up to her in captivity but again its information overload and it’s easy to get burnt out on it.

Maybe, longtime fans of the series can appreciate the strategic babble but I’m just bored. I don’t feel anything for the characters besides Nimitz and the art was the only thing getting me through these issues. At times it does look a little too CG for me but overall, damn. Kudos for all the outer space scenes that are so intricate the stars and nebulas look like spider webs with dew droplets. I’m impressed, Jeong.
