Review: The Legend of Luther Strode #6 (of 6)

So this is it, The Legend of Luther Strode has reached its end. I’m not too sure how I feel about this because it’s one of my all-time favorite comic book series ever. Here’s hoping it delivers big time. Aw who am I kidding, if it’s Luther Strode you know it’s going to be good. Luther and Petra have caught up to the Jack, who has taken refuge in a local shopping mall. By refuge I mean he’s slaughtered everything with a heartbeat. Luther inspects the bodies and finds out that Jack has left his victims close to death. As Luther puts one man out of his misery, Petra prepares to attack Jack with her pistols. Luther warns her to be careful because there are still people alive and her possible stray gun fire could harm innocents.

Then from out of nowhere Jack appears and the fight to end all fights begins between Luther and Jack. As the two titans go head to head Petra does what she can to aid the survivor. As all hell breaks loose Jack pushes Luther to his absolute brink. Will Luther have enough to put away his toughest foe yet?

legendluther06_coverThis ending was bitter-sweet to say the least. The Legend of Luther Strode has finished and it was an insanely fun series. Thanks to Justin Jordan, there were more than a hand full of jaw dropping panels and sassy dialog. The biggest take away narrative wise were the parts in Legend where Jordan took the story and carefully exposed deeper layers of this amazing world. That was huge and it’s something that left me salivating for more.

For all the sweetness that Justin Jordan laid out with a great story, Tradd Moore and his more than amazing art style single handily stole the show for me. His art wasn’t only amazing in this issue but the whole series. This man can draw action like nobody’s business.

The bad, there’s no more Luther Strode. The good, there’s going to be more Luther Strode. Here’s hoping that the upcoming series keeps these two comic book power houses together and we as fans get even deeper to this fantastic mythos that is that tale of Luther Strode.
