In case you forgot, Goku has obtained a power far beyond Super Saiyan God Blue and it’s called Ultra Instinct! It’s incredible and something unimaginable to my eyes. I was doubtful to how they can top a power much more than a God, but the show definitely achieved this challenge. Dragon Ball Super has gone a long way starting very slow in its beginning season, but it’s made its way to delivering us with that intense and accelerating battles we enjoyed watching from Dragon Ball Z. In this week’s episode universe 2 and 6 faced defeat in the Tournament of Power and ended with sad farewells.

With universe 2 and 6 at the brink of being erased, they gave it all they got while using every bit of energy they could gather up like the Power of Love and the Namekian Fusion that brings us memories from Dragon Ball Z. As much as I disliked universe 2 and Ribrianne’s constant annoyance of love, I grew to sympathize for them because it was obvious that they were done for and seeing them try their hardest was just painful to see. It was a nice touch watching them say their goodbyes to their beloved people and left with honor and love.

During Gohan and Piccolo’s battle against Universe 7’s Namekians, it felt like it lasted too long and I almost forgot they were still fighting those two. It still appears that Gohan is holding back an incredible power as we see him rely on Piccolo’s Special Beam Canon for the fight, but I still have hope that he gets his spotlight during the tournament because I’m sure everyone is hoping for the Gohan we loved during the Cell Games. In the end, Gohan and Piccolo make a great team and we see that incredible bond between them during an intense and lengthy battle.

Android 17 and 18 add in very awkward humor when they join Goku’s fight and try to approach with a similar introduction much like the warriors of love. Let’s just say we hope we never see that again. This battle was quick, but I’d rather have it that way than hearing another “power of love” in a drawn-out battle like the previous ones. We see that Universe 7 is no different than Universe 2 because they both are resilient fighters and gain much more power when they have support of their friends. As for Universe 7, I really wish they got the proper goodbye that they deserved and it left us feeling empty. Mainly because Beerus did not say one word to Champa within those last moments before his erasure. It could be that Beerus knows there is a way to bring back his universe. We’ll just have to wait and see.

2 universes were eliminated in The Tournament of Power and left with sad goodbyes and a predictable ending, but is nothing new that we’ve seen in the Dragon Ball series. As Goku is still regaining his stamina back it draws us closer to another epic battle between Goku and Jiren.
