Aside from the fact that the editor’s name was put on every cover in some desperate act of approval, this book had a bevy of problems. The pacing was frantic and catastrophic to the story. The characters were unlikable and unrelatable, and for the life of me I couldn’t figure out what the book was about while reading it. Hold on; I know what the book is about, but what I’m saying is that it fundamentally fails at conveying this message through its story. Reading Image’s synopsis doesn’t count.
The art was also an inconsistent mess. Everything was overshadowed to the point that the 90s comics were calling and complaining about Surgeon X giving them a bad rap. All this and they still put their editor's name on the book as if saying, “look, we got Karen Berger’s approval!” All it told us was that you could afford her fee.
