Best Comics of 2018
No, I have not come out of retirement. This is a limited engagement, very limited. One of my greatest pleasures of running my own site was the year-end list. I have always looked forward to it even if most publishers and very few creators ever really cared that they were on it. Sure, everyone cared if they were on the worst of list, but best of, eh. At any rate, I’m back to give you my best comics of 2018 and just like before; I’ll also be back to give you my worst comics of 2018 as well. Let me be frank, any year-end list that doesn’t have a counterpart is bullshit. Did you miss me? No, you didn’t.
Oh and I know this is late, I tried to get it done in December, but that’s just how busy life has been post-Comic Bastards. Oh well, only like five people are going to read this anyway.
I’m not doing any kind of order this year so just soak it all in from start to finish. At this point in writing, I don’t actually know how many picks I have, I’m just going to go through the list I wrote down, and that’s that.

Worst Comics of 2018
By Dustin Cabeal
Again, I’m still retired, but again, I love doing the end of the year list. I don’t actually care if anyone reads this list or the Best Comics of 2018 list, but they’ll exist for me and at this point in life that’s all I’m shooting for, writing for myself.
The worst of list has always brought its share of controversy. When I started Comic Bastards, comic fandom was at a stage in which nothing could be criticized because for some reason criticism meant the end of the medium. I’d say some people still act like that, whereas every other form of media strives through criticism, but whatever. Now though, there’s a growing number of people that shit on comics just because they’re not what they liked growing up or they have minority creators and minority characters in the book. Gasp, the world changed and left all these people behind to complain about comics. You won’t find me complaining about a comic for those reasons, these are just comics that shouldn’t be celebrated and hopefully will improve in the next year… or not which is most likely what will happen, but some people can now avoid ever reading this batch of books. Here they are in no particular order.

The Best Stand Up Comedy Specials of 2018
2018 has seen dozens of stand-up comedians take to the podium to showcase their work to the world. While dozens have stood up, only a few have managed to dazzle audiences with their hilarious but witty performances. In this article, we share with you the best stand-up comedy specials of 2018 performed so far. For those who failed to attend the comedy specials conducted thus far owing to a lack of funds, you ought to know that there is a large selection of online roulette games at NetBet casino that are highly profitable hence you can play and earn yourself some extra cash to spend.

Unexpected Comic Book Characters
The majority of characters featured in comics are, for the most part, fictional, even if they are inspired by real-life personalities. There are of course very famous examples of these: the Marvel characters of Spider-Man, Iron Man and Captain America being obvious choices that have become household names.

Opinion: Censorship in Comics
By Hunter T. Patrick
HBO, Showtime, Netflix, all of these networks use profanity and nudity in some of their shows… a lot. It is not the fact they want to (well probably some), but the fact they need to. Imagine the stories on network TV. Game of Thrones on ABC might still look magical, but it would still lack in the impact the show makes. Girls on HBO works for how shocking it is. Just the one F-word allowed on Breaking Bad each season has such a strong impact on the viewer for how sparse it is used, and yet on TV it is censored. This piece is not to promote profanity, to promote nudity, to promote that every HBO show use such adult themes. Imagine HBO’s new hit show, Sesame Street, with Elmo and Abby Cadabby having an intense, explicit rap battle. Elmo is already nude, but that is beyond the point. Some things do not need to have that level of intensity as it should fit the audience. This is not about censorship having to do with free speech in riots, or whether or not cable TV should air South Park in all its glory. This is strictly about comic books.

BookCon 2018
By Cat Wyatt
BookCon is heaven on earth for books and comic fans; there’s no other way to put it. It occurs once a year – immediately following BookExpo – and lasts for two days. Publishers, authors, and avid fans come from all over for this event, to make friends, find book swag, get autographs, and have a fantastic time.

Review: Fun.com’s DC Wonder Woman Canvas Cargo Womens Jacket
By Cat Wyatt
It’s not every day you come across an outfit that’s both well-made and nerdy. Granted, this is thankfully becoming a more frequent event, but it’s still rare enough that it’s worth celebrating when it happens. Fun.com has a really fun but nerdy selection of clothes.

All Things Considered, Superman Is Still Better Than Batman
The long ongoing debate about which superhero beats the other can easily get people’s knickers in a twist, and regardless of the endless cases made for each side, die-hard fans are not easily swayed and would much rather go at each other’s throat than to betray their favourite superhero. So, of course, I am aware that I won’t be putting an end to this debate today, but that’s the fun of it, because what’s better than engaging in some playful banter about fictional figures that do not exist?

Normandy Gold's Steve Scott Chats 70s Influences of Graphic Novel
I approached the series Normandy Gold as a crime fiction drama. Essentially, casting the actors, finding my set references, etc...
The most important casting for me to realize was that of Normandy. The writers recommended various actors or people of importance for the inspiration of much of the cast, but Normandy was mine to figure out. She needed to be a very strong, intelligent and enduring Woman that can transform throughout the series while still being recognizable to the reader. For her, one such inspiration I chose to use was the actress Lauren German. Lauren can be found in the hit TV series “Lucifer” playing Detective Decker.

The Best Games Based On Comic Book Characters
Comic book characters have been a big part of people’s lives since early childhood, whether they realize it or not. They also may not have been introduced through the medium of comic books either, as these characters have gone on to excel in other areas too. There have been a vast amount of TV shows, films and various games based on the likes of Superman, Batman, and Spiderman over the years; so you could say it’s games in their various forms, where comic book characters have really hit dizzy heights.

The Best Anime Casino Games
When it comes to slot games, developers are always trying to find new themes to base them on. It’s an industry that is constantly moving with the times, and it’s vitally important to give players the best gaming experience possible. We’ve seen loads of slot games based on famous movies, video games, and superheroes, but now one theme that is on the rise is anime.
