Review: Justice League #1 - The New 52
Meh. Is it a decent read? Yes, but just barely. Does it utilize Jim Lee's talents? No. Does it even read like a Geoff Johns book? No. Does it come across as an Elseworld? For now, yes. Does it need a second print when you can buy it digitally? No. Is it getting one anyways? Yes.
Review: The Goon #35
It’s the Goon versus midgets, bearded ladies and well every other imaginable type of freak show out there. After getting run off the road the Goon and Franky decide to give the torso-man an ass kicking and chase after him into the woods.
Review: Mindfield #6
The first major story arc for Mindfield wraps up and frankly I haven’t kept up with the book since the first issue so I was a bit curious to see how it turned out. Our main characters are in a standoff in Nebraska to stop a psycho with his own mental powers from setting off a nuke in Minnesota’s Mall of America.
Review: Drifters - Vol. 1
Substance has been lacking in the American Manga market for several years due to its fast rise in popularity. Soon every American comic company was buying up every property it could in vague attempts at catching the next big hit.
Review: Hellraiser #4
The first three issues have consistently raised the bar for this series, but the fourth issue hits a plateau as it transitions into the next plot line. Finally though, we get that intense meeting between Pinhead and Christy that the series has been building towards with the first three issues.
Review: Damaged #2
Are you a cop? Are you sick of all the horse shit policies and loop holes in the system that the fat-cats love to exploit? Then you should take justice into your own hands, like the guys in Radical’s Damaged do!
Artistic! RAWR Edition
What's better than cool art? Cool art on a Friday! Here's some cool fan art for the first Friday Art. Enjoy Bastards.
Review: Loose Ends #2
The first issue of Loose Ends grabbed me and caught my attention, but this second issue is so different and so good that I’m hooked me on this series. It’s exactly what an indie comic should be… different from everything else.
Review: Fathom - Blue Decent #3
I’ll admit this was my first issue of Blue Descent and really I have no idea where it falls in the Fathom timeline. I did find the issue to be very interesting as it revealed the origin of the water species which is divided in two groups: The Black and the Blue.
Review: TMNT #1
Allow me to sum up my history with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise… I love it. I am one of those many nerds that still have all of their figures, comics and video games… and a VHS that I received for one of my birthdays.
Review: Executive Assistant: Lotus #2
There something about Lotus that really grabs me. I think it might be that the angle is different form the other Executive Assistant titles in the Hit List Agenda crossover. Perhaps I’m able to sympathize more with Lotus as a character than I can with the others which makes the ending of this issue all the more shocking.
Hey DC I'm Scanning Your Shit!
As many... no, all comic book fans know this month will mark the last issue of the Old DC Universe as they reboot the entire line of comics which has been dubbed The New 52. Catchy right? What's also happening is that DC Comics will be the first company to go day and date with their digital comics.
More Please! Rouge + Magneto
Artist Clayton Henry has created some real magic with Roneto as she's now being called. This Rogue/Magneto hybrid is pretty awesome and it got me thinking about what other characters could fill the roles of the reverse gender?
Follow The Bastards And Win An iPad Game: Mighty Fin
It's Friday and there is nothing better than winning some free shit for the weekend. Today we have TWO free copies of the download only Might Fin given to us from our friends at Launching Pad Games the developers. All you have to do to win is one of two things.
WTF Cover: Marksmen #2
Having not read the first issue I have to wonder what the hell this book is about. At first glance it looks like some bad cell shaded art on top of a real picture with some random children thrown in the corner. Then as you look again you'll notice the very strange face of the woman in the blue. Look at that for a moment.
