Review: Weekly Shonen Jump #9
This week's 200+ page "mega issue" of Jump does not disappoint.
Review: Doberman #5
Although I’ve seen a lot of harsh criticism for Doberman, I’ve continued to enjoy it for what it is. I think people who don’t enjoy it take the comic, and themselves, too seriously. This book isn’t trying to re-invent the wheel by any means but delivers on action and comedy which it sets out to do.
Review: Colder – The Bad Seed #4
For a while now I’ve been behind on this series and after catching up I can only say that I regret that I ever fell behind. The first two issues were good, but they were a bit reminiscent of the first volume of the series. The third issue changed the landscape significantly and this fourth issue continued on the new and fresh course making this one of the best ongoing horror themed stories on the market.
Review: Gantz Vol. 34
The mecha fights in this volume of Gantz are meticulous and kickass, but the story is a complete mess.
Review: 13 Coins #4
The battle between good and evil is always more than what can be seen. The fate though hinges on one person who has the power, but has to accept who he is and his fate. Sure a pretty normal sounding story but this one has a different twist that kept me reading.
Do Want: Robert Valley Wonder Woman Statue
Remember that boom ass DC short in which Wonder Woman drove a Camaro (okay probably not a Camaro, but it looked like one) and it was amazing? Well this is the statue for it and you better believe that it's going to be popular. Check out the video for it below and if the fact that they made a video for it doesn't tell you how popular they think it's going to be... well then look at how many other videos they have dozens of figures and statues they release each month.
Cosplay: Ragyo Kiryuin... Awesome
Yeah it's a Kill la Kill type of day, that and it's one of the most popular animes of the past five years or some shit so it's not going any where. In fact you'll probably get sick of seeing it before it stops being popular. I can't wait for the genderswap cosplay and then the inevitable Kill la Kill hybrids between other properties. In the meantime lets just enjoy Khainsaw's fucking awesome Ragyo Kiryuin cosplay because it is the bomb.
Do Want Figma Satsuki Kiryuin
Figma produces some of the best figures in the biz! This Satsuki Kiryuin figure releases this August and is going to cost about $50 bucks, but damn it's worth it... well worth it if you have Ryuko Matoi to stand next to her.
Trailer Time: Deep Web
I didn't know anything about this until the trailer, but I really want to check it out now. I find the Dread Pirate Roberts moniker interesting, especially when you consider it's linage in Princess Bride. It's pretty interesting so check out the trailer.
Trailer Time: Turbo Kid
I love that this film is set in 1997 for whatever reason. It seems random and this movie looks like it could be awesome... or terrible, but probably awesome.
Here's The Fantastic Four Trailer... One Of The Previous Words Is A Lie
Here's the thing... I couldn't care less about this film. In fact I care so little that I wanted them to really change it up and deliver something I would want to see... instead it just looks like a ridiculous version of the same old boring Fantastic Four.
First Look: Fathom: Kiani Vol. 4 #1 on Sale 2/11/15
The next chapter of Kiani is approaching, so check out the preview.
London Super Comic-Con 2015: 4 Reasons To Get Excited
It's hard to believe how quickly it's come round, but London Super Comic-Con is once again just round the corner. Since it first burst onto the comic-book scene just three years ago, the show has become one of the biggest pop culture conventions in the UK - and it's still growing!
CBMFP 169: You Don't Know Music
Today on the CBMFP (Comic Bastards Mother Fucking Podcast), Kevin, Dustin and Steve discuss the Supergirl casting and pilot news. Then they jump over to the Singer report to learn about the three new cast members of X-Men: Apocalypse. Staying with the Marvel theme they wrap the news-news with more Secret War stuff, but wait! They also cover #fourcomics that spread across the internet last week.
Monster & Wine: Episode 24 - Calendar Days
Fall Out Boy put out a new album and for whatever reason, M&W decide to give their two cents and it is not pretty. Super Bowl XLIX is coming up and Wine gives a very thorough analysis on the Seahawks and Patriots while Monster listens intently due to a lack of sports knowledge. Predictions are made. Wine also talks about the new calendar...
Us Versus Movies: Justice League: Throne of Atlantis
That's right ComicBastards.com's movie podcast, known as #Save It For The Podcast, has returned with the next WB animated film... Justice League: Throne of Atlantis. Not much else to say so let's sit back and give it a listen!
The Info Zombie - Episode 95: Brandon Early
Brandon Early from Movies at Dog Farm explains some new horror finds in movies and books while cherishing some of the old classics.
Video: Marvel's Avengers Assemble - "Head to Head"
MODAK swaps the Avengers minds! Oh, that crazy MODAK.
Review: Dead Letters #7
For a man who lives his life in purgatory, Sam has had a long run where he couldn’t be touched. He has an enchanted blade, he’s got the head of one of his biggest enemies in a bag on the seat... and now, we reach the point where all his sins catch up to him.
Review: Imaginary Drugs
I know I’m pretty new but I’m already going to give you a peek behind the curtain here. Usually when I consume something, be it written, video, audio or visual I usually write a review of it in my head. It’s how I’m able to recall things. I consume it, I sum up the experience so it can be categorized and put in a box and then the box can be filed away in the warehouse of my mind. Kind of an abstract description right? It’s also kind of appropriate though when you consider Imaginary Drugs. But I tell you that so that you understand where I coming from here. As I was reading this I was completely stumped as to what category this should be in and I love it for that.
