Review: The Return of Zita The Spacegirl
Going into The Return of Zita The Spacegirl I knew that it was the third book in a series, but nothing else outside of that. I certainly didn’t know Zita or her supporting cast, but as all good books series tend to do I was introduced to the world of Zita while reading this new adventure from creator Ben Hatke.
Review: Chew: Warrior Chicken Poyo
Poyo the chicken is needed where the world needs saving, whether it’s saving the president or another realm from killer vegetables he will be there. I will say he kicks ass doing it. And Warrior Chicken Poyo reminds you that sometimes you just need a book for pure action sake.
Review: How The World Was – A California Childhood
How The World Was is an interesting graphic novel. It’s from illustrator Emmanuel Guibert, but it’s about his friend Alan Cope. The graphic novel was originally published in French, but it’s about Cope’s life growing up in California during the Depression Era.
Call of Duty: Ghosts Nemesis DLC
Are you still playing Call of Duty: Ghost ? Sure ya are big boy. Then I don't have to tell you that the last DLC pack, Nemesis is dropping August 5th on X-Box Live and then everywhere else whenever they want.
Horns Full Trailer
I already had a vested interest in this movie, but after discovering it was based on a Joe Hill book I've become even more interested. Especially with my renewed addiction to his comic Locke & Key which is all thanks to the Locke & Key game that I can't stop playing.
Review: Seconds
To say I’ve been eagerly waiting for this book is an understatement. I have been waiting for it as long as it has been announced and I doubt that I’m in any minority when I say that. With that said it seemed almost like a race to see who could read and review the book first and frankly I didn’t have the time to read yet alone write a review for Seconds the week it released because it was just too close to Comic-Con.
Review: Julia’s House for Lost Creatures
Julia’s House for Lost Creatures is a children’s book from writer/artist Ben Hatke. A kid’s book on Comic Bastards!?! Yes I know it’s a bit strange, but an extensive look through my past reviews will show that I will read just about anything and the more unusual it is the more likely I am to enjoy it and post a review for it.
Review: Do You Remember Rock’n’Roll Record Stores?
It’s time for me to confess my complete biased nature towards Nix Comics’ line of books. Perhaps it’s because they capture the music scene or music paired with comics creates that bridge between what is heard and what is seen, but either way I’m pretty much a sucker for their titles.
Review: The Rise of Aurora West
When The Rise of Aurora West was announced shortly after the release of Battling Boy I was instantly intrigued. Frankly I couldn’t get enough of the universe and so the fact that Paul Pope was already planning to release more was frankly impressive, but also desired.
Review: X-O Manowar #27
The “Armor Hunters” storyline continues with this chapter, “A Call to Arms,” that continues Malgam’s history with the hunters leading to his infection with Armor.
Monster & Wine: Episode 4 - An Elephant Named Future
Monster learns the awkward way that Japan can sometimes truly be just for the Japanese. Wine on the other hand has a response that comes across as annoyed when in fact she may not be.
Trailer Time: Zombeavers
Why didn't anyone tell me that was a thing?? That guy is wearing a beanie while he's in a lake in the summer time!!! That so classic that guy!
This Kitty Pryde Cosplay Is Awesome
Seriously this is a fantastic Kitty Pryde cosplay. Calssara is very convincing and really it comes from her facial expression. I really wish more cosplay photo sets displayed this much personality.
Atari: Game Over Trailer
By now you've probably heard about the Atari landfill reveal. You know the one with all the E.T. cartridges? Well here's the trailer for the documentary which honestly looks quite interesting even if most people already know the outcome.
Mike Tyson Mysteries Is The Greatest Thing To Come Out of Comic-Con
Holy crap this is awesome! I laughed so hard at everything Mike Tyson said and then when Norm McDonald chimed in as the Pigeon I nearly cried. This is going to be the greatest thing on TV and I can't wait to watch.
Comedy Central Tries Animation Again With Moonbeam City
I love the way this looks. It's intentionally set in the 80s and frankly it looks exactly like the art from that era. Two concerns come to mind though, the celebrity cast could kill the budget if it makes it to the second season.
Good Smile Previews Kill la Kill, 300, Batman, Star Wars Figures and More!
This post touches on practically everything we cover on the site! While most were at Comic-Con this past weekend, retailer Good Smile was at Summer Wonder Festival and took a ton of pictures of upcoming figures. Here's just a handful of them including ones for Kill la Kill, Batman, 3oo, Star Wars, Metal Gear Solid and a few that just caught my eye.
RevolMini Metal Gear Solid Cyborg Ninja and Others!
We all know that Cyborg Ninja is one of the coolest things ever about the Metal Gear Solid line. The character is just too cool. Revol has a line of mini's coming out for Metal Gear Solid as a part of their mini line. There's also a couple of Snake and then a prototype of Venom Snake. All-in-all, they're very cool.
Kotobukiya Reveals Batwoman Statue In Two Versions
I absolutely love the short hair version of Ms. Cain. She looks really cool. That's the variant version of course as the regular version has her with the wig and mask on. What wasn't revealed with this statue was the price or release date so keep an eye out for that, but I would imagine it's next year considering how many statues they already have coming in Q3 and Q4 of this year.
Do Want: Figma Guyver Figure
Guyver was one of the first anime's I ever saw and so of course I have a soft spot for it, but the thing is... it's still a really cool anime. It's rare that something holds up once you've taken off the nostaliga glasses, but Guyver managed it. This figure is awesome looking.
