There's life after death for THE UTOPIAN in a new comic collection coming July 17

Press Release

When writer-artist Pj Perez posted the last page of his serialized webcomic THE UTOPIAN in October 2010, that was supposed to be the end of the story. The protagonist–a high school revolutionary named James Douglas who crusaded for social justice as “The Utopian”–died in the tale’s dramatic climax. The comics were published in four print issues and then a trade paperback, and Perez moved onto other projects.

Review: Jackass! vol. 1

By Thea Srinivasan

Sexuality is an elusive area of life as it comes out of nowhere and is something we cannot control. While it can be a beautiful aspect of life to explore, it can also cause confusion as it enters our life and dictates how we feel.  Sometimes sexuality clashes with our personal morals and we end up fighting an internal battle.  Luckily, there are cases in which people can learn to accept their sexuality and eventually embrace themselves. The following review is about a yaoi. If you are under the age of 18, please do not read this story is it contains graphic acts of sex. Again, this manga contains nudity and sex. This is my only warning.

Review: After Hours Vol. 1

By Thea Srinivasan

There are several places to find romance: at a restaurant, in the middle of a street or even a toilet. But finding love at a club is more realistic than finding love in a bathroom.  Personally, I’ve never been to a club as I legally cannot drink. To me, a club is a place where people can hook up with others and let loose.  Very rarely do I think of a club as a place to get to know people or enjoy music.

Review: About Betty's Boob

By Hunter T. Patrick

Such a lovely message. Elisabeth is a woman who just lost her breast and hair after fighting a disease. She begins to be shunned by society, and even worse her significant other. He tries, he really does for her, but he cannot get over her having a single breast. She begins to have everyone turn against her and all values of beauty cause her to spiral worse and worse into loneliness and despair in society. Yep. Sounds pretty depressing. But as with all great tragedies there should be a little hope. This plays into hope. The metaphors are strong, and the social commentary is stronger. This is a book that unashamedly plays into femininity and beauty, it is all the stronger for not being afraid to put it all into its art.

Review: Tap Dance Killer #1

I have a little secret to share with you all. It’s kind of embarrassing because it involves a colossal multinational corporation that holds an illegal monopoly on my favorite industry. I hate big corporations. They’re faceless and soulless and they swallow up people in their destructive wake like Great White Sharks on a bait ball of Mackerel. But…
